- Motorcycle ride to raise money for Scope

Mike & Sheila in India

Mike and Sheila have just returned from a sponsored motorcycle ride across Rajasthan in aid of Scope's Meldreth Manor School. All the money they raise will go direct to Meldreth Manor, where Sheila works. Meldreth Manor is a Scope residential school for disabled students with complex care and learning support needs.

Riding an Indian built Enfield Bullet, they covered 1,870 km in 8 days.  From Delhi, they rode west across the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer.  They then headed back through Jodphur and Jaipur, stopping off at the world's largest camel fair in Pushkar and then at Agra to see the Taj Mahal, before returning to Delhi.  The route took them through sand, over potholes, past some of the world's most spectacular scenery and into the some of the world's most chaotic traffic.  They were joined on the challenge by 15 other riders, all raising money for Scope.

Mike and Sheila each carried an Aquasak on the trip to ensure that they could keep hydrated as they rode along and they didn't have to rely on the availability of bottled water, which can sometimes be difficult in rural areas.

"The Aquasaks were ideal, they ensured we had plenty to drink and neither of us suffered any stomach upsets - very important if you are spending 8 hours a day on the back of a motorbike!".

- Sheila Jack

"Both Aquasaks stoodup to the trip well and provided much needed refreshment when required."

- Mike Pope
