AQUAPURE TRAVELLER - FAQ'S
Pure Hydration's purification filters now incorporate our new M.A.D. Technology that eliminates waterbourne pathogens using a process based on Electrohesion . Working on fatal attraction this process simply stops and holds microbiology such as bacteria, viruses, cysts and spores deep within the pores of the media. This leaves you with crisp, clear, safe, great tasting water every time. Our products and research are endorsed by the Hospital of Tropical Diseases London and are in extensive use by the UK MOD & other armed forces, aid organisations and emergency services worldwide. The APT will typically work for up to 350L per filter. (Depending on turbidity and general water quality). Using the APT on relatively clean water will not take its toll on the filter as much as extremely bad quality water will. The filter will gradually get harder to squeeze as the filter absorbs more. Eventually it will stop completely in which case the filter will need to be replaced. The product is designed to fail in a 'safe way'. As long as water is coming through the filter, it's good to drink. Replacement filters can be obtained from our website (www.purehydration.co.uk) or by calling us on 0333 600 7000 (local rate). We are happy to ship worldwide. Drinking the water before it has gone through the filter is not recommended. The filter process is required to remove harmful elements such as pathogens (such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia), chemicals and heavy metals. The filter itself will continue to work until it is blocked, regardless of age. The Aquapure Traveller removes potential contaminates from the water. The filter will deal with viruses, bacteria, pathogens, chemicals, heavy metals, sediment and other contaminates.
No, but if the water is particularly turbid, we recommend using a pre-filter to try and keep the filter from becoming prematurely blocked.
The Aquapure Traveller will continue to function effectively for a year after its first use. After this the cap should be replaced. Follow these simple steps between long periods of inactivity:
Turbid water is water that is filled with large amounts of tiny particles. Turbid water is generally cloudy in appearance and causes filters block prematurely. The particles are small enough to suspend in the water and settle very slowly or not at all. Whereas the filters will remove the particles from the water, the sheer volume of them can cause the filter to block prematurely. Good practice is to avoid cloudy water, take water from faster flowing parts of rivers and streams and from the surface rather than the bottom. If you are likely to encounter turbid waters on a daily basis then it is a good idea to take a Milbank bag or other suitable pre-filter to remove as much turbidity as possible before using your Pure Hydration product. Yes. This product contains no chemicals or additives so the purification of water is not a problem. The Aquapure Traveller is designed to work with fresh water sources only. Putting anything else through the filter such as sea water, fruit juice, sugary drinks, tea & coffee, urine etc will damage the filter. The bottle contains an Anti Microbial which has been impregnated into the plastic itself. This agent prevents bacteria and viruses from surviving on the surface. It is still recommended that you clean your bottle whenever possible with warm soapy water & rinse thoroughly. The filter should be simply rinsed through with chlorinated tap water. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
